Deb Fan — “METRONOME”
I recently came across Deb Fan when she popped up on our Instagram feed. I found her music to be unique and a bit otherworldly, so naturally, I had to add her to our radar. "Metronome" is a cut from her latest EP, ACT I: Moth, and it is what I can only describe as Sci-Fi RnB.
The production here is so unique, but it does not push things too far past the point of being palatable. It is ambient, cool, and definitely a vibe. While each track on the EP stands completely on its own, the whole project stays connected through this distinct, futuristic styling.
"Metronome," however, is a clear favorite for me. The bounce almost reminds me of some of the classic RnB tunes crafted by The Neptunes, but it still maintains its own specific sonic signature. Her vocals and arrangement definitely guide the song through its motions here. Do yourself a favor and dive into this one. Headphones are highly recommended.
