nextdimensional — “mind surf”

Man, nextdimensional comes out the gate swinging with mind surf. This one is a breakbeat, analog tape-saturated delight packed with some serious energy. Dark, brooding, aggressive, and full of movement. It wastes no time getting right into it.

One of the things that immediately caught my ear was that bassline. It's deep, heavy, gritty, and flares out with a wobble. Paired with the hard-hitting breakbeats and saturated textures, the whole thing has this raw intensity that makes it hard to sit still.

What I really dig about mind surf is how it takes me back to that late-'90s era of electronic music. I'm not even talking Y2K. This sounds like something you would've heard on the Hackers soundtrack. That period when trip-hop, jungle, and drum & bass were all pushing boundaries and bringing a certain grit and attitude to electronic music. That's the energy I'm getting from this one.

I love how nextdimensional captures that feeling while keeping the vibe current. There's a nice combination of old-school grit and modern production, with enough twists in the arrangement to keep things interesting. It's aggressive, but the rhythm keeps everything moving.

Definitely adding this one to my rotation. If you're into darker breakbeats, gritty bass, and that late-'90s underground electronic sound, give mind surf a listen.
