Eddie Logix - Strange Looks

Eddie Logix — “Strange Looks”
My boy Eddie Logix is back with Eighth Street Edits Vol. 4, and one of my personal favorites from the project is Strange Looks. The Detroit-based producer brings some highly experimental sounds to this latest release, and man, this particular track is just a vibe.
What really caught my ear is the polyrhythmic composition. There's so much happening rhythmically, but it all comes together in a way that just gets you moving. The track is packed with layers, and I love how every time I listen, something different seems to jump out at me. It's one of those records where you can focus on the groove or really dig into all the little details happening throughout the production.
And here's where my mind went while listening. Imagine an episode of the original Star Trek with William Shatner, but there's a party happening aboard the Enterprise. I'm telling you, Strange Looks would be playing in the background. It's funky, weird, a little otherworldly, and somehow makes perfect sense in that setting.
That's what I dig about Eddie Logix's production. He's not afraid to get experimental, and sometimes the best way to appreciate what he's doing is to stop trying to describe every little sound and just experience it for yourself.
So take my word for it and dive into Strange Looks from Eddie Logix, off his latest release, Eighth Street Edits Vol. 4. This one's a trip.
