CICI Zhu — “Beautiful Damage”

I’m starting to think CICI Zhu just doesn’t miss. I honestly can’t think of a track I’ve heard from her yet that I haven’t loved, and her new four-track EP, Beautiful Damage, keeps that streak going.

One of the things I’ve always enjoyed about her music is the way she blends Eastern and Western influences. It’s such a dope combination, and then she adds her vocals into the mix and that’s really the icing on the cake for me. There’s something about her sound that can feel graceful and beautiful while still having enough bounce and energy to get you moving.

All four tracks on Beautiful Damage hit for me: Tipsy, Should Have, Hallucinating, and Rebuild to close things out. If I had to pick favorites, I’m probably going back and forth between Tipsy and Rebuild. I’ve definitely had both of those in heavy rotation.

And that’s what I like about CICI Zhu’s music—it works in so many different settings for me. I can throw this project on when I’m chilling, play it while I’m getting my workout in, have it going during one of those productive days, or just let it ride while I’m in the car.

Four tracks, no skips for me. Check out CICI Zhu’s Beautiful Damage today!
