Chinsaku — “Yesterday, again”
I spent this past weekend vibing to the latest project from our fam Chinsaku, a nine-track album titled Yesterday, again. All I can say is this project hit me like a dose of audio therapy. Chinsaku continues to elevate his sound with every release, and this project is no exception.
Each track carries a warm, vintage feel, with production that paints a landscape through layers of samples, breaks, acoustic instrumentation, and vocal elements. There’s a richness to the arrangements that keeps revealing new details while maintaining the laid-back character that makes Chinsaku’s music so easy to get lost in.
A few standouts for me include his flip of The Pharcyde’s “Runnin,” the opening track “En Route,” and “Still Here.” Each one highlights a different side of what makes the project work so well.
I’m always happy to get new music from Chinsaku, and Yesterday, again is another reminder of why. Do yourself a favor and spend some time with this one.
