Bad Snacks slows things down with her latest release, stargazer. This one immediately reminds me of the sound from when we first met Bad Snacks, around the time she was releasing projects like Neat Tape and Neat Tape 2. It’s more downtempo, more relaxed, and a nice little detour from some of the uptempo jams she’s been dropping lately.
stargazer is also part of a three-track release featuring two other singles we’ve previously highlighted, mercury and bang, bang. Together, the three tracks give you a nice glimpse into the different sides of Bad Snacks’ sound.
But let me tell you, stargazer is one of those tracks you just want to lay back and sink into. It’s sonically captivating, colorful, and filled with textures that give the track so much life. And of course, Bad Snacks goes crazy with the electric violin, weaving it into the production in a way that has become such a signature part of her sound.
Be sure to catch the sick beat switch-up during the breakdown around the 1:40 mark. It’s one of those moments that catches your ear immediately and gives the track another layer without taking away from the laid-back vibe.
