We're Rooting For You: The Social Dilemma

Hello my fellow creatives,

I’ve been reflecting a lot lately on my journey through the creative world—one that started about 25 years ago. And when I think back to those early days, creating just felt… different. It was more enjoyable. More authentic.

There was a natural barrier to entry back then. Not everyone could just jump in. You had to really want it. That barrier filtered out the noise and left behind people who were genuinely passionate—not just chasing trends or trying to look “cool.”

The biggest difference? We had no social media.

Everything felt intentional. If you wanted to connect, you had to physically be there—in the rooms, in the studios, in the crowd. You built relationships face-to-face. You shook hands. You shared energy. And those connections meant something.

I miss those days.

Maybe that makes me a bit of a dinosaur. Maybe I just never fully adapted to the social media boom. I’m not someone who naturally wants to be on camera, and the constant pressure to create content every single day is exhausting. On top of that, we’re all trying to navigate algorithms controlled by platforms that don’t necessarily have our best interests at heart.

Then you add bots, trolls, and endless noise into the mix… and sometimes it starts to feel like a dystopian digital loop.

If I’m being honest, there are moments where I ask myself: What’s the point of creating at all?

And that’s exactly why BFG means so much to me.

We might be a small community, but we’re intentional. We’re building something real. A space where creatives can connect beyond the screen—where people can build tangible relationships, share energy, and experience music the way it’s meant to be experienced: together.

Still, I understand the reality. We have to play the game.

So yeah—I’ll keep wracking my brain trying to come up with posts. I’ll keep showing up, even on the days it feels forced. Because if that’s the price I have to pay to keep this thing alive and growing, I’ll pay it.

Happily.

Because what we’re building gives people a chance to unplug—even if it’s just for a few hours. To be present. To be surrounded by music and people who genuinely care.

That’s worth everything.

I’m curious—how do you feel about the social media age we’re living in? Has it changed the way you create? The way you connect?

Either way, just know this:

We’re in this together.

And we’re rooting for you.

Heartfelt brother. People like you are the reason I hit the export button or plug-in to go live. BFG is part of the history of Los Angeles music. I highly appreciate you and the BFG crew for allowing new sounds to go live. Turn it up!!!

That means a lot, seriously. 🙏

We’re just trying to create a space where people feel inspired to hit that export and share their sound with the world. You being part of that energy is what makes BFG what it is. Much love always!
