CICI Zhu — “SHOULD'VE”
The incredibly talented CICI Zhu is back with another dope drop. "Should've" is definitely a vibe that finds her right in her element. From the instrumentation and the production execution all the way down to the mixing and mastering, she really handles her business here to craft a tune that completely sets a mood.
What I love about this track is how she stays firmly in that golden era hip-hop bag with the heavy beats, but flips it by juxtaposing those classic rhythms with her Eastern influences. CICI is definitely in a lane of her own with this sound, creating something truly unique that effortlessly blends the best of different cultures and musical worlds.
It is just a beautiful, fluid piece of music. This is exactly the kind of tune I keep on repeat when I'm out on one of those late-night drives through the city, just letting the atmosphere take over.
